The Innovation Ecosystems for Vocational Education and Training (InEcVET) project brings together a diverse range of partner organisations from around Europe. The consortium comprises 8 full implementing partners and 2 specialist support partners. Partners have been selected in pairs with 2 organisations from Ireland, Cyprus, Portugal and Romania who will work in teams to develop the proposed innovation ecosystem with support from a specialist technical partner from Finland and a specialist media production partner from Ireland. The project will run for a period of 24 months beginning in November 2015. InEcVET is funded under the Forward Looking Cooperation Projects measure of the Erasmus+ Programme.
A brief introduction to each of the 10 project partners is presented below.
University of Pitesti
University of Piteşti (UPIT) is a medium size university, having over 10,000 students and approximately 800 teaching and administrative staff. UPIT gathers under its co-ordination and management 11 faculties offering Bachelor, Master and Doctor Diplomas. The academic staff comprises a body of experts and professionals with accredited and recognised results. UPIT has specialised departments: “Muntenia” Institute for Training and Performance, Teaching Staff Training Department, Centre for Sustainable Development Projects, International Cooperation Center, Community Programme Office, Research Institute, “Development of Systems and Software Applications” Center, Centre of Higher Education Quality Assurance, University of Piteşti Publishing House, University Library. UPIT is member of Rectors’ Council in Romania and is also a member of the European Universities Association (EUA), Danube Rectors’ Conference (DRC), Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), European Forum of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (EfVET), and European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN). Staff of UPIT participates as experts in a variety of working groups for the Ministry of National Education and Scientific Research; and committees of the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS).
