The Innovation Ecosystems for Vocational Education and Training (InEcVET) project brings together a diverse range of partner organisations from around Europe. The consortium comprises 8 full implementing partners and 2 specialist support partners. Partners have been selected in pairs with 2 organisations from Ireland, Cyprus, Portugal and Romania who will work in teams to develop the proposed innovation ecosystem with support from a specialist technical partner from Finland and a specialist media production partner from Ireland. The project will run for a period of 24 months beginning in November 2015. InEcVET is funded under the Forward Looking Cooperation Projects measure of the Erasmus+ Programme.
A brief introduction to each of the 10 project partners is presented below.
European University Cyprus
European University Cyprus is a university in the Republic in Cyprus that is a member of Laureate International Universities reaching out to more than 75 accredited campus-based and online institutions, in 29 countries, with more than 150 campuses and over 800,000 students worldwide. Both the group and the university are active in promoting entrepreneurship. It created the first start up incubator in Cyprus in 2003, and has recently revamped its educational content to promote start-ups. Through the use of positive deviance methodology, key lessons can be integrated into improving existing vocational training and creation of employment through start-ups for those in vocational training. The University is owned by A.S. Cyprus College Limited, which is also the owner of the Cyprus College, a premier vocational training provider in Cyprus. Cyprus College has been providing vocational, academic and professional training since 1961, and is actively running fifteen vocational training courses. It has a long relationship in providing services of life-long learning and vocational training programmes that are accredited by Cypriot government bodies such as the Service for the Development of Human Capital.
